Indoor Rock Climbing Class Levels
KinderClimb (Ages 4-6 with a parent)
We will teach parents proper belay technique; kids will learn basic climbing technique and commands. Students at this level will not learn belaying techniques or knot craft. We prefer to have a parent present for this class, but it is not required. Parents will be taught proper belay technique and knot craft.
Youth, Pre Teen, Teen, & Adult Climbing
Our staff will teach your child the basics of indoor rock climbing, wall movement techniques, and the necessary commands. Our Youth, Preteen, Teen, and Adult Climbing programs introduce knot craft to all students and parents and belay techniques to parents and those students over 13 years of age. It is strongly encouraged that a parent attend with the student, but is not required.

Group wall climbing is a great event for scout groups, church groups, or school groups. Groups receive one to one-and-a-half hours of climbing instruction and open climb time. Cost is $7 per student for one hour, $10 per student for one-and-a-half hours. Group climb times must be scheduled through our office in advance. It will take a few days to set up your group climb, as we need to check availability of our climbing instructors, so plan ahead and book early. firstname.lastname@example.org
Rock Climbing Class Policies
Parent & Sibling Policy: Parents are strongly encouraged to participate in all classes as belayers. Belaying is easy! It does not require leaving the ground. It does not require great strength. If you can lift your child or 25 pounds you can belay any child safely. Once you are belay certified through a class you will then be able to attend open climb time with your child.
Having a parent attend with each child also allows our instructors additional time to better teach the finer points of climbing skills and techniques, and allows your climber to have more practice time on the wall.
Siblings not enrolled in class are not allowed on the rock wall or in the gym area at any time. You may bring quiet activities for your children, and they can stay on the gray carpet area near the climbing wall.
Safety is an essential part of all climbing programs. Students are expected to listen to their instructors and follow directions at all times. If this becomes a problem the instructor may ask you to leave the climbing area.
Dress Code for Rock Climbing Classes: Students should dress in clothing that does not restrict their movement. Long, loose pants or sweatpants are recommended. Athletic shoes, hiking boots, climbing shoes, or climbing slippers should be worn, no flip-flops, sandals, or crocs.
If your child’s hair can interfere with their vision we suggest you pull it back and secure it away from the face.
Please have your child remove all jewelry before class starts. Jewelry can easily get caught on something and be broken or cause injury. Children will be asked to remove any jewelry the instructor feels is a hazard. Airborne is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Make-up Classes: We prefer our students attend their regularly scheduled class, but we understand things come up, so we do allow one make-up per month. All make-ups must be completed within four weeks of the missed class. For climbing classes only, make-ups are scheduled with the instructor directly. We do not pro-rate or give credit for missed classes.
Climbing Equipment: We supply harnesses, locking carabiners, and belay devices for all climbing classes.
Class Size: Minimum class size is 2 students. Maximum class size is 6 students per instructor.
